The NHL has expanded its global reach through its partnership with Facebook, joining Facebook and Twitter in a new partnership that brings together fans around social media.
The partnership, which will be announced Tuesday, will allow the NHL to reach a new audience of fans, advertisers and sponsors.
The partnership marks the third time the NHL has partnered with Facebook in its global efforts, and will provide fans around its venues with information about their favorite team, the league said in a news release.
The NHL announced the partnership with the social network on Thursday.
The NHL will launch a partnership with Instagram, which it has partnered on in the past, and the NHL’s Facebook team, which brings together social media fans.
The deal is the first for the league since the NBA and the NFL partnered with Twitter in 2015.
The new deal also expands the reach of the league’s social media platforms to a much larger audience, including fans of the Los Angeles Kings, which are in their ninth season in the NHL.
